The Trustees of the Berger-Marks Foundation invite you to a reception honoring the 2017 winners of the

6th Annual Edna Award for Social Justice

&

3rd Annual Kate Mullany Courageous Young Worker Award

Each year, these awards celebrate young women, age 35 or younger, who have made significant contributions to the fight for social justice and workers' rights.


Beer, wine & hors d’oeuvres will be served.

Who won the Awards this year?

The 2017 Winner of the Edna Award is Angelica Clarke, Executive Director of the Albany Center for Social Justice. The two runners-up, receiving the Edna Award of Distinction, are Jessica Carmona Cabrera of the California Immigrant Youth Justice Alliance and Cathy Dang of CAAAV: Organizing Asian Communities.

The 2017 Winners of the Kate Mullany Courageous Young Worker Award are Jessica Ellul, a unit coordinator in the oncology ward at Danbury Hospital; Angela Melvin, a call center worker at the T-Mobile call center in Wichita, KS; and Allysha Shin, a registered nurse in Pasadena, CA.

Do I have to register? Can I just show up?

If you would like to attend the reception, you must register via this Eventbrite page. The check-in desk outside the reception will have a list of all registered people. If you do not pre-register, you may not be allowed to attend the reception.


How do I get to the National Press Club?

The National Press Club is located at the corner of 14th and F Street in Northwest Washington, DC, next to the J.W. Marriott hotel. The reception will be held in the Holeman Lounge on the 13th Floor of the National Press Building.

The PMI garage is located on the north side of G St between 13th and 14th Streets.
